This is one of the hardest questions to answer! At minimum 1 - 2years as this type of therapy takes time. Its deep self & life changing work I do with clients.
It also depends on what you are looking for support around, if you’ve done therapy before, have a trauma history and so many other factors. The work I do is typically long term and in depth. It's not formulaic or a set number of sessions. We can talk more about your unique circumstances in your consultation and first few sessions.
Research from the Journal of the American Medical Association as well as the National Institute of Health (among many others), demonstrates that a minimum of 1 year of weekly sessions (50 sessions), frequently extending to 2–3 years or more for complex patterns. Studies also show a clear dose-response relationship; Meaning clients gains continue to compound the longer they remain in therapy that endure and grow years after the therapy ends.
Research from the American Psychological Association suggests that addressing acute symptoms like general stress and anxiety typically requires a minimum of 15 to 20 sessions for 50% of clients to report improvement.

I have a No Cancellation Policy; instead we reschedule appointments within the week before, during, or week after the initial booking, allowing a generous three-week window. You also get two free cancellations per year. This pacing allows for the consistency and frequency needed in your therapy to get the relief and results needed.
For any subsequent missed appointments not rescheduled, clients are charged the full session fee. Video options provide flexibility, and an online scheduler simplifies appointment changes.
If you need to reschedule, please let me know as much in advance as possible. If you provide less than 48 hours notice, do not show up or have used 2 free cancellations, you will be charged a full session fee- no exceptions.

Yes, we will start with a free 20-25 minute consult to get a sense if we are a good fit to work together and to answer questions you may have. I want us to feel confident in our decision to work together. If I don't think I'm the right therapist for you, I will do my best to connect you with someone more appropriate. I have a “book now’ on each page where you can book yourself using Jane app. If you do not see openings or none that work for you, please fill out my form or email me directly and I will connect to find a time that works for us! Honestly, don’t hesitate to contact me directly.

Good Question! Consults give us a sense of fit - how I show up there is how I am in sessions too. I get to know how you show up too, what's bringing you to seek therapy and if I am trained and qualified to help you. AND a consult is brief so it typically takes between 3 to 10 sessions to really know if a therapist is the right fit for you.
-
I hold sessions during daytime hours ending at 430pm with 1 evening spot per week at 440pm.
-
In your first few appointments, we go slow, starting to get to know one another. I listen attentively to what you are coming to therapy for, assessing the challenges, learning your relational, bodily, family and cultural experiences and history. I start to formulate how I can help you. We also go over my practice policies and the way I work.
-
Fees are paid by e-transfer sent to me prior to your appointment.

-
If you would like to claim therapy, I send a receipt at each session and you submit that directly to your insurance provider.
Please confirm that your insurance accepts services by a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) or Registered Nurse (RN). Psychotherapy can be claimed as health expenses on your tax return.
