Yes, we will start with a free 20 minute consult to get a sense if we are a good fit to work together and to answer questions you may have. I want us to feel confident in our decision to work together. If I don't think I'm the right therapist for you, I will do my best to connect you with someone more appropriate. I have a “book now’ on each page where you can book yourself using Jane app. If you see no openings or none that work for you, please fill out my form or email me directly and I will connect to find a time that works for us!

Good Question! Consults give us a sense of fit - how I show up there is how I am in sessions too. I get to know how you show up too, what's bringing you to seek therapy and if I am trained and qualified to help you. AND it typically takes between 3 to 10 sessions to really know this fully.

In your first few appointments, we go slow, starting to get to know one another. I listen attentively to what you are coming to therapy for, assessing the challenges, learning your relational, bodily, family and cultural experiences and history. I start to formulate how I can help you. We also go over my practice policies and the way I work.

This is one of the hardest questions to answer! It completely depends on what you are looking for support around, if you have done therapy before, trauma history and so many other factors. The work I do is long term and in depth therapy. It's not formulaic or a set number of sessions. It would be rare that therapy would be done in less than a year. BUT sometimes clients have a specific and uncomplicated issue that we can address in a short time. We can talk more about your unique circumstances in your consultation and first few sessions.
-
I have a No Cancellation Policy; instead we reschedule appointments within the week before, during, or week after the initial booking, allowing a generous three-week window. You also get two free cancellations per year. For any subsequent missed appointments not rescheduled, clients are charged the full session fee. Video options provide flexibility, and an online scheduler simplifies appointment changes.
If you need to reschedule, please let me know as much in advance as possible. If you provide less than 48 hours notice, do not show up or have used 2 free cancellations, you will be charged a full session fee- no exceptions.
-
Fees are paid by e-transfer sent to me prior to your appointment. Credit cards can be used but have a 2.75% processing fee.
-
If you would like to claim therapy, I send a receipt at each session and you submit that directly to your insurance provider. Please confirm that your insurance accepts services by a Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Nurse. Psychotherapy can be claimed as health expenses on your tax return.
